Eco-Friendly Water Based Finishes
Our Great American Saddle Stools are now finished in "General Finishes Milk Paints". These new finishes are hand-rubbed to give the look of antiquity in saddle stools.
Milk paint recipes include casein,lime, clays and earth pigments. They are then coated with a finish coat of water based lacquer.
All products used in finishing are organic raw materials. they are water based products and environmentally safe and non-taxic.
We pride ourselves on changing to the latest technology in finishes. Unlike other types of paint that form a skin on the surface of the wood, milk paint has a low viscosity and soaks into raw wood. The finish becomes increasingly durable with age.
